Bunn STX Specialty 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer with Thermal Carafe
Price: $129.18
This Bunn Coffee Maker is a sleek looking 10 cup coffee maker with a patented brewing system that brews your coffee in just 3-4 minutes, your coffee is never over-extracted or bitter. It has a stainless steel tank and internal thermostat for ideal brewing temperature. This coffee maker also has a 3 year warranty.
This is our favorite overall coffee maker, because the coffee quality is of very high, among the best we tested, yet the coffee maker remains relatively affordable. Another great feature is the thermal carafe, which keeps the coffee drinkable all day long without the use of a heating pad, which tends to degrade the quality of the coffee over time. Build quality is also very solid, so you do truly feel like you are getting your money’s worth.
PROS:
- Solidly built, no cheap plastic
- Quick brewing time
- Thermal carafe keeps coffee hot even when coffee maker is off
CONS:
- Have to take lid of carafe to pour coffee
- No built in timer
- Carafe does not easily allow you see how much coffee is left

Technivorm 1.25-L. Moccamaster Coffee Maker, Polished Silver
Price: $299.00
If our number one rated coffee maker is the cadillac of coffee makers, this one is the roll royce. For the absolute best cup of coffee this machine is the way to go, this machine produced the best cup of coffee of any machine we tested. This is one of the few machines we’ve used that will heat the water to the perfect temperature of 203 degrees fahrenheit, which is really the temperature you want to reach to get that perfect cup. Be warned that of course a result of the high brewing temperature the coffee will be hotter than what you may normally be used to. Also the build quality is a little cheap, which is very disappointing at this price point. However the coffee quality is so good that we had to rate this coffee maker number two.
PROS:
- Provides for ideal brewing temperature of 203 degrees fahrenheit
- Unmatched coffee quality, best cup of coffee you ever tasted
CONS:
- Build quality not what you would expect for the price/cheap plastic
- Relatively high price
Rank #3

Capresso 464.05 CoffeeTeam GS 10-Cup Digital Coffeemaker with Conical Burr Grinder
Price: $184.68
This is a 10 cup programmable coffee maker with a built in conical burr grinder. Having the built in grinder is a great convenience, and this coffee maker really brews a solid cup of coffee as well. The grinder is a bit loud, so be warned there, however the great thing about the grinder is that you can fill it up with your beans, it will automatically grind the right amount of coffee for you, so that guess work is now gone. And in our tests this feature actually worked very well. You can of course also brew coffee that has already been ground if you prefer.
PROS:
- Convenience of a built in grinder, automatically grinds correct amount of beans.
- Easy to clean
- Relatively affordable
CONS:
- Grinder is loud
- Some coffee remains in the machine after grinding which must be cleaned
- Somewhat large
Rank #4

Cuisinart DCC-2700 Brew Central 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker
Price: $122.00
This fully programmable coffee maker is a solid unit, with a thermal carafe that does a great job of keeping the coffee hot all day long. It also features separate settings for regular and bold strength coffee. We found that the coffee from this machine had great taste, and we particularly like the thermal carafe, you can brew a large cup of coffee in the morning and have it remain hot and it tends to taste better than coffee that has been left in a normal carafe. Only major negative with regards to this coffee maker is that the opening for filling the water is too small and thus more difficult than it needs to be. Overall a very solid high quality unit for the price.
PROS:
- Good quality coffee and good value
- Thermal carafe means hot coffee all day long and better tasting coffee late in the day
- Easy to clean
CONS:
- Difficult to pour in your water, small opening
- Carafe has a tendency to leak during pour
Rank #5

Bunn NHBX-B Contemporary 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer, Black
Price: $89.25
A solid affordable unit, produces a decent cup of coffee, though not at the level of the more expensive coffee makers listed here. This less expensive coffee maker doesn’t have a timer, so it is a pretty basic unit, but still performs fairly well for those on a budget. This coffee maker does have a warming tank that will allow you to use pre-heated water for faster brewing, but be warned that uses a lot of electricity.
PROS:
- Relatively Affordable
- Higher quality coffee than the cheapest coffee makers
- Has option to use pre-heated water for faster brewing
CONS:
- Not quite as good coffee quality as more expensive machines
- Pre-heated water uses a lot of electricity
- No timer
